Position Objectives

Jackson County DHHS is seeking to fill an Initial Assessment (Child Abuse Investigations) Social Worker position. Overall responsibilities focus on investigating reports of child abuse and/or neglect and making decisions about child safety. This work is fast-paced, and requires frequent unscheduled home visits, parent/child interviews, collaboration with community partners, detailed documentation, and testifying in Court. Position is also part of the on the on-call rotation.

Minimum Requirements

A valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and a Wisconsin Social Work Certification or a license from a state with a reciprocity agreement with the State of Wisconsin is required. If not certified at the time of application, must have applied to the State of Wisconsin for a Temporary or Training Certificate and obtain certification by the date of hire.
