Position Objectives

Outagamie County in east-central Wisconsin is the sixth largest county in the state. Outagamie County consists of 26 different departments that provide services such as paving and maintaining roads, recycling refuse, policing roads, prosecuting and incarcerating criminals, facilitating air travel, protecting children, supporting veterans, ensuring food safety, and providing long-term care for the elderly and disabled.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs activities of fiscal unit staff primarily performing accounts receivable activities and Representative Payee functions.
  • Review fiscal operations and systems including the financial aspects of general county receipting and the billing and receipting of Medicaid, Medicare, private insurances and individuals for services.
  • Prepares documents and schedules for audits.
  • Assists managers with budgetary decisions.
  • Performs a variety of monthly and annual accounting functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Three to five years accounting experience.
  • Supervisory experience in accounting in a health and human services setting preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word required.
  • OR, any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
