Position Objectives
Sawyer County Health and Human Services is accepting applications for a full time Behavioral Health Clinician. As part of an experienced outpatient behavioral health clinic team, this position provides client centered therapeutic care options to enhance mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. This is achieved through the clinician offering a comprehensive behavioral health service array including individual, couple, family, and group therapies. Additionally, the clinician compassionately integrates trauma informed care services to those overwhelmed with life circumstances and to those suffering from serious mental health and substance use disorders. Clinical services are delivered under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Clinic/Criminal Justice Programs Supervisor.
Sawyer County (population 17,000) is situated within the pristine woods and waters of northwestern Wisconsin. Sawyer County Health and Human Services is located in the county seat of Hayward. Hayward is the home of world class events such as the American Birkebeiner and the Lumberjack World Championships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in counseling, clinical social work, or related field with emphasis on addictions/mental health counseling preferred. Applicant must possess a clinical substance abuse counselor (CSAC) licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services or possess a professional counselor license with substance abuse specialty authorization. Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience in Wisconsin State licensed AODA/MH programs; dual licensure preferred. Familiarity with both AODA and MH diagnoses as outlined in the DSM-V. Experience with providing wraparound services engaging community agencies and in treating diverse populations.

Sawyer County offers a generous fringe benefit package including health insurance, retirement, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week with a beginning hourly wage of $25.51
